Cold Weather Mani Faves
It’s still damn near 90 degrees in Los Angeles right now but let’s pretend for a second that it’s not. Let’s go to that beautiful space in my mind where the weather is fitting for Fall, the air is crisp, and there are colorful leaves on the ground. There I can dig into that deep corner of my closet where my sweaters live for 10 months out of the year. I can get cozy under a fuzzy blanket and drink cider while watching my favorite Spooky Season movies with a whiff of pumpkin spice in the air. Yeah, let’s live there for a moment.
Though I can only go to that pleasant place in my mind, my manicures can live that life IRL. So, let’s talk about some of my favorite Fall manis that I’ll be rocking this year.
BROWN IS THE NEW BLACK
Rich, chocolate brown manis are having a moment. Here are some of my favorite shades and fun ways to wear them.
SHORT & DARK
A dark, sexy color will always be in style for the Fall and Winter months. Sometimes my nails get brittle when the cooler weather hits. I’m also notorious for breaking a nail during all the holiday cooking. So, going short and dark is my go-to immediately after that inevitable first tragedy strikes.
ALL WRAPPED UP IN A NICE LITTLE BOW
I’m not usually one for 3D nail art, but I can’t get enough of this cute little bow situation. So, count me in for this trinket trend.
TUXEDO FRENCH
Who doesn’t love a good old school 90’s style French mani? They are gorgeous as is, but I really like to mix it up with a little extra something. In this case I’ve decided to make it black tie and go half white and half black. It’s a chic take on a classic look.
COLD REDS
I’m a red polish girl all the way. In the colder months, I like to switch to reds with cooler undertones like blue and purple. If you’ve ever attended one of my polish color theory classes, you know what I mean by this. If you haven’t been yet, please come join us for some fun with the color wheel! In the meantime, here are my favorite cold weather reds.
